RIP Simon Werner and Jimmy Borghino

Simon Werner who played guitar for one of Vancouver's seminal punk bands The Skulls and also played with the influential band The Pack in the U.K., passed away November 26th after he fell and hit his head at his house in Hastings England. Simon was an outstanding guitarist, his creativity and his wry sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his two brothers and his daughter. His brother Jonathan plays in The Furies with Chris Arnett. It's a real drag to lose another friend. Simon was 55 years old. ~ Joe Keithley for The Skulls and D.O.A. and Alumni

Jimmy "Dim" Borghino passed away this past November in Oregon. Jimmy was the original singer for 7 Seconds and played in numerous bands in the Reno area. Jimmy was a wildman who knew how to rock. He is survived by his son, two brothers and his mon and dad. We'll all miss you Jimmy. ~ Joe Keithley for D.O.A. and Alumni

Devon Clifford will be missed by all his family, friends and fans R.I.P.

A statement from his family:

YSPWSD’s Devon Clifford experienced a massive brain hemorrhage resulting from congenital defects while on stage in Vancouver on Friday night and fell into a coma.  A surgery was performed but sadly doctors were unable to save his life.  He was 30.

Devon Clifford was an extremely gifted drummer and determined character.  He loved his family, loved his band, loved traveling, loved being on stage and loved meeting people around the world.  He was smart, witty, passionate, and music meant everything to him.  He was also incredibly generous with his love and respected everybody he came into contact with.  This was underlined by his work with the under privileged at the Portland Hotel Society.

The Clifford family would like to take this opportunity to remind young people to have the courage to follow their dreams like Devon did.

The family would also like to take this opportunity to thank everybody around the world for their kind words and stories about how Devon impacted their lives.

We are very sad to announce that Franco, MDC's original bass player, passed away in Mexico in early January, 2010. He was a real talented guy and a gentle soul.

We will all miss him.
