The Action - Complete Punk Recordings 1977 - 1978 CD

Price: $10.00

THE ACTION was formed in 1977 and was one of Canada’s first punk bands. Their style combined early punk like THE RAMONES and rock influences like THE ROLLING STONE’S guitar attack and THE ALLMAN BROTHER’S dual /slide guitar leads. That combined with provocative lyrics and an untouchable stage show made THE ACTION a musician’s band.

THE ACTION was chosen to open for THE RAMONES in 1978 and they helped spearhead the punk movement across Canada when they supported THE STRANGLERS on their first North American tour that same year. This collection covers the band’s short but
wild career from 1977-78. It features THE ACTION’S first EP, which includes the cult classic T.V.’s On the Blink and their second unreleased EP. It also includes smokin’ live tracks recorded at the infamous ROTTER‘S CLUB in Ottawa, Canada.

The line up featured the THREE FENTON BROTHERS, PAUL, JOHN and MICHAEL, as well as the incomparable TED AXE on vocals and SHOT SPOT MACDONALD on drums. Their music sounds just as fresh and vital as it did 30 years ago.
